New Cookie design...

,I had an order 0f 60 butterfly cookies (I forgot to take pics) and some dough left over. So I made a few extra cookies in different shapes to play with some new designs.
I've been wanting to get Leo a little sailor outfit. I know he'll hate me when I'm older and show the pics of him wearing it to his girlfriends or whatever. I have to find one soon while he's still cute and small.
Anyway...here are some little sailor onesies I made today. what do you think? my favorite is the one with the stripes.

Ooey gooey goodness!

I finally took the time to make some chocolate chip cookies from scratch! Leo was napping, and it was much faster than I thought.
Iused a recipe from Bakerella:

Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
• In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt with a wire whisk and set aside.
• With a mixer, beat butter and both sugars until well blended.
• Beat in eggs and vanilla.
• Add flour mixture in two additions until combined.
• Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips.
• Use a mini ice cream scoop to drop cookie dough on a parchment covered cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. (I used two regular spoon to drop some batter on the sheet, I dont like perfectly round cookies, and I dont have a mini ice cream scoop)
  
• Bake for 8-10 minutes.
• Tip: About half way through baking, sprinkle reserved chips on top of cookies. This is just to make them prettier so, some of the chips are seen on top. (I personally just put some extra sprinkles on top before baking and they ended up looking the same. I hate taking cookies out half way through)
  

It makes about three dozen, maybe a little more, but I ate some cookie dough and some cookies after baking.

These last few days have been kinda crazy. I feel like I spend more time driving around running errands than doing anything else. I had some cookie orders that had to be shipped, some more cookies that had to be baked and packed for mother's day orders, I spent almost a whole day looking for a nice post card for my Happy Mail partner, I wanted something I liked, not just a random picture of one of the few nice parts of town. And today I have to bake some more cookies that I'm shipping tomorrow. I'll probably be up til 4am decorating cookies again. Which I dont mind cuz I love doing it, but then I dont want to get up in the morning. Also, my oven broke so I had to find someone to lend me theirs while the new one arrives and gets installed. Anyway, here are some pics of the cookies and mini cupcake bouquets that I made for Mother's day. They're not perfect but they are super yummy, and I think that's more important than making them look like plastic.

Cookie Cutters

When I started making cookies I started looking for good quality cookies cutters. I found American Tradition Cookie Cutters. They have a really good variety and the prices are excellent. I've bought a few cutters from them and I love them. And I just want them all.

Still alive...

I've been gone for a while... I'm back home visiting my family for a few weeks. I'm not sure how long I'll stay. But it feels good to be here. Even if its for sad reasons.
I will be making cookies while I'm here. I need to keep myself busy and my mind elsewhere. I've only been here a little over a week and I already got a few orders form previous clients...one of them told me she just wants to stock up and freeze some of them before I go back to Argentina. lol...I guess she really likes my cookies...that makes me feel good.

I'm also making cupcakes for a little girl's birthday. She's having a spa themed party...I'm still thinking of ideas for the decoration on the cupcakes.
Baking makes me happy, it's relaxing to me, just like crocheting.
