I’m just a small town girl stuck in a big city. Normally it would be the other way around but Los Angeles has been my home for over ten years and I’m scratching to get out. During the day I’m the photo editor of a magazine. It’s demanding of my time and energy, I work really hard and don’t get paid enough. I have dreams of moving on, exploring and making Collisionware full time.


My love of crafts started when I was just a little girl. My mom had this craft closet with a little of everything in it. I started making doll clothes and creatures out of pennies and fake fur. I would hold craft fairs at my kitchen table and invite my family, hoping they would buy stuff. Who would have known that I would be doing the same thing 25 years later but on a larger scale.

My biggest support system is definitely my family and my boyfriend. I spend a lot of time bouncing ideas off them. I have to say that they also have pretty mad design skills. Whenever I need a logo or web banner, I’m able to hand it off to them for free. Nothing is more helpful than that.

After experimenting with leather, fabrics and everything under the sun, I finally felt like I had something concrete when I started making oven mitts and wallets. I absolutely love working with color so vinyl and fabric present endless opportunities for me. When you visit my Etsy shop, I want you to feel like you’ve just run through a candy store. That’s how I feel when I step into a fabric store and I’m trying to pass that feeling along.
I officially opened my Etsy shop in April of 2008. I thought it would be fun to have an outlet for all my creative energy and maybe make some extra money. After a pretty successful first year, I started thinking I could actually do something with this. For now, I juggle what little time I have sewing, doing craft fairs and trying to keep everything in order. My goal for this year is to grow Collisionware by designing a few new products, participating in more fairs and really putting myself out there. This is such a passion of mine so regardless of what the future holds, I’m enjoying the ride.
